Berea is one of the longest meeting small groups at Merriam Christian Church. Berea is mentioned in the book of Acts in the Bible. It is a small city on the eastern side of Vermion Mountains where Paul preached, and where the people examined the Scriptures to see if his preaching was true (Acts 17:10–13). The group numbers around 15 people on most Sunday mornings. Most of the folks attending are seniors with a wealth of experience and knowledge. The class has two teachers: Rex, a retired minister, and Eddie, a lay person. The Berea group is studying lessons from the Standard Publishing NIV quarterly. The group uses the Bible to clarify and expound on the scripture offered through the prepared lessons. All ages are welcomed and invited to come join in Biblical fellowship.
Rex and Eddie keep the group humming right along!
