MCC In The Community
Merriam Christian Church is striving to be an active presence of the Body of Christ in the community. We
believe that the grace we have found in Jesus is meant to be shared and spread, through our actions and walk
every day. There are needs in the community and there are gifts that God has given each of us. MCC wants to
find a way to help the gifts address the needs.
A few of the ways MCC is present and active in the community include:
Supply drives for local food pantries
Serving meals at meal-ministries, like Johnson County Food Ministries and Meals-on-Wheels
Packing meals for the Salvation Army-Haiti Project
Packing food backpacks for elementary school kids to take home on weekends
Volunteering at the Johnson County Christmas Bureau
Helping people with gas and groceries
Random-Acts-Of-Kindness (Gas and Grocery Gift Cards) through the JOGgers
